WARRANTY & SERVICE
Persa Two-Year Limited Warranty
Every new Persa watch is covered by a transferable two-year limited warranty beginning on the date the watch is delivered.
The warranty follows the watch for the remainder of its original coverage period. The owner must provide the original order number, warranty record, or other reasonable proof of purchase.
What is covered
Persa will repair or replace components that fail because of defective materials, assembly, or workmanship under normal use. Coverage includes:
- Failure of the movement during normal use
- Timekeeping outside the movement manufacturer’s published tolerances
- Loose or detached hands, markers, or dial elements
- Defective crowns, stems, bracelets, or clasps
- Visible dust, debris, fingerprints, or foreign material trapped inside the watch
- Other assembly defects that prevent the watch from operating as intended
- A material discrepancy between an Atelier Custom watch and its approved written specification
Each Atelier Custom movement is regulated and checked before delivery. Because mechanical watches naturally vary with position, temperature, power reserve, and wearing habits, performance within the movement manufacturer’s published tolerance is not considered a defect.
Cosmetic inspection standard
A cosmetic issue must be visible to the unaided eye from approximately 30 centimetres under ordinary indoor lighting to qualify as a defect. Conditions visible only under magnification are not covered.
Small tolerances in alignment, finishing, colour, texture, and naturally variable materials are inherent to watch components and custom assembly. They are not defects unless they are clearly visible under normal viewing conditions or materially differ from the approved specification.
Water resistance
An Atelier Custom watch must be treated as non-water-resistant unless Persa provides a specific written water-resistance rating after pressure testing the completed watch.
Unless such a rating is documented, the watch should not be worn while swimming, bathing, showering, or during any activity involving water. Water damage is not covered without a documented Persa pressure-test rating.
If water resistance is specifically requested, its testing, rating, appropriate use, and warranty coverage will be documented separately for that commission.
What is not covered
The warranty does not cover:
- Scratches, dents, fading, discolouration, or ordinary wear
- Accidental impacts, drops, crushing, misuse, or neglect
- Damage caused by water without a documented Persa rating
- Damage caused by magnetism
- Normal deterioration of leather, fabric, or rubber straps
- Theft or loss
- Damage caused by incorrect operation or date-setting
- Accuracy that remains within the movement manufacturer’s published tolerance
- Aesthetic preferences or a change of mind after an Atelier Custom design has been approved
- Damage caused by opening, repairing, adjusting, or modifying the watch outside Persa
Third-party work does not automatically cancel coverage for an unrelated original defect. However, Persa may decline coverage when the claimed problem was caused or complicated by that work, or when its cause can no longer be reliably determined.
Warranty remedies
Persa will determine the appropriate remedy after inspecting the watch. Depending on the problem, Persa may:
- Repair the original component.
- Replace it with the same component.
- With the owner’s approval, use a comparable or better component.
- Rebuild or replace the watch when a repair is not reasonably possible.
If no reasonable repair or replacement is available, Persa will provide any remedy required by applicable consumer law.
Replacement components and repairs remain covered for the balance of the original two-year warranty period.
Making a claim
Contact Persa before shipping the watch. Include:
- The order number or warranty record
- A description of the problem
- Photographs or video when helpful
- The current return address
Persa will acknowledge the claim within five business days. Once the watch has been received, Persa will normally provide an initial assessment within five business days.
Repair timing is confirmed after inspection. Some components can take approximately three weeks or longer to source.
For confirmed Canadian warranty claims, Persa covers reasonable insured shipping both ways. If inspection finds no covered defect, the owner is responsible for return shipping and any separately approved non-warranty work.
International warranty shipping arrangements will be confirmed before the watch is sent.
Atelier Custom Approval and Final-Sale Policy
Mockups and revisions
The first visual mockup and one consolidated round of changes are included without charge.
Additional revisions may require a design fee disclosed before the work begins. Design fees are non-refundable once the corresponding design work has been performed.
The client may stop the project before approving the final design and paying the commission deposit. Any completed design work already paid for remains non-refundable.
Approval and deposit
Once the client:
- Approves the final design and written specification;
- Approves the final quote and expected timeline; and
- Pays the 50% commission deposit,
the client authorizes Persa to begin sourcing components and producing the watch. At that point, the commission becomes non-cancellable and the deposit becomes non-refundable.
The remaining 50% is due before shipment or final handoff.
If Persa cannot reasonably complete the approved commission, Persa may propose comparable alternatives. If no acceptable solution can be reached, Persa will refund amounts paid for goods or services that have not been provided.
Final sale
Because every Atelier Custom watch is sourced and assembled for a specific client, completed commissions cannot be returned or exchanged because of:
- A change of mind
- A change in aesthetic preference
- Minor differences caused by screen colour, lighting, texture, or naturally variable materials
- Ordinary component and assembly tolerances
A completed watch remains protected by the Persa warranty. If it is defective or materially different from the approved written specification, Persa will correct it.
Seven-day delivery inspection
Shipping damage, visible cosmetic defects, incorrect components, or material discrepancies from the approved specification should be reported within seven calendar days of delivery.
This inspection period does not shorten the two-year mechanical warranty or any rights provided by applicable law.
